Skullcandy Dime Not Charging [Fixed]

This article is intended to help you if your Skullcandy Dime earbuds are not charging.

Fixing this is not really a big issue until your Skullcandy Dime earbuds aren’t damaged due to heat, water, or falling on the ground.

If your Skullcandy Dime is damaged by falling on the ground or heat then it is very difficult to solve its charging problem.

Let’s get started on how to fix your Skullcandy Dime earbuds that are not charging.

How to Fix Skullcandy Dime Not Charging

Quick Fixes

  1. Properly place eartips of your Skullcandy dime earbuds. Because if they are not placed properly they can keep buds from sitting properly in the charging case and as a result, your earbuds will not charge.
  2. Properly close the lid of the charging case. Because when the lid remains open the charging contacts of the earbuds will not connect to the pins of the charging case. As a result, earbuds will not charge.
  3. Turn off both Skullcandy Dime buds before placing them in the charging case.

Properly Charge the Case

To charge Skullcandy Dime earbuds you have to put them in the case. But what if the charging case is not charging properly, how can your earbuds charge from it?

Therefore you should first check the charging case whether it is charging or not.

If the charging case isn’t working then you need to first fix it.

Make sure you are plugging the charging cable properly in the case and it is charging.

Also fully charge the case and then place both buds in the case to charge.

Here is how you will know when the case is fully charged.

The charging case of Skullcandy Dime earbuds will take 5 hours to charge 100%.

Also when the LED on the charging case will start flashing Green it will indicate the case is fully charged.

Clean & Check the Pins of Case

The pins of the Skullcandy Dime charging case are made of delicate material. Which can stop charging if there will be dirt on them.

Therefore to charge your Skullcandy Dime make sure the pins of the charging case are clean.

For cleaning pins, you can use sandpaper and tissue.

You have to gently move sandpaper on the pins to scratch the dirt and then clean it with the tissue.

Another thing you can do is check the length of the pins. If one of the pins is shorter in length than the others.

Then maybe it is damaged and due to it, your earbuds are not charging.

Therefore you need to fix the length of all pins.

After that place both buds in the charging case. Hopefully, they will start charging.

Clean Skullcandy Dime

As I mentioned above, to charge earbuds clean the pins of the charging case.

The same case is here, here you have to clean the charging contacts of Skullcandy Dime buds instead of pins.

For cleaning charging contacts, you have to gently move the toothbrush on them.

After that place them in the case and check whether they start charging or not.

If not then try the next tips.

Drain Battery

If your Skullcandy Dime earbuds still are not charging then you should drain their battery.

In other words, you have to spend a whole day without earbuds to fix their charging problem.

Here is what you have to do.

Unpair your Skullcandy Dime earbuds from all your devices.

Remove them from all devices and also turn off Bluetooth on all devices.

Then place both Skullcandy Dime buds out of the charging case for 24 hours.

The purpose of this thing is to drain the battery of both buds. When you place both buds out of the case they will automatically connect to each other and will remain turned on for searching devices to pair.

In this way, their battery will drain completely.

After 24 hours put both buds in the charging case and they will start charging.

However, you should make sure your earbuds charging case is fully charged.

Reset Your Skullcandy

If neither of the above fixes worked then you should reset your earbuds.

Resetting will clear any kind of software issues and hopefully, your earbuds will start charging.

Here is how you can reset your Skullcandy Dime earbuds.

  1. Unpair earbuds and remove them from all Bluetooth devices list.
  2. Take both buds out of the case and they will automatically power on after a few seconds.
  3. Press the button 2 times and hold it for 2 seconds.
  4. Now, your Skullcandy Dime earbuds are reset.

After resetting pair them with any device and then place them in the charging case.

Earbuds should charge after reset, if they are not charging then move on to the next tip.

Replace Skullcandy Dime

If all of the above tips did not work for you. And your Skullcandy Dime is not charging anymore. Then you should replace them if they are under warranty.

You can return them within 30 days from the date of purchase.

Replacing earbuds is a wise choice because it is very difficult to fix the really small circuit of buds and charging case.
